Nausea — any ideas?
Hi guys! I’m rolling along with the same old here. There have been storms every day (seriously!) for the past week. I haven’t been feeling the effectiveness of the Botox. I’m hoping that’s just because of the weather.
But in other news, my nausea has returned over the past month. What a bummer! It was basically gone, we found a medicine that helped and I had hardly any nausea. Now….it is back. It seems I’m nauseated unless I’m eating. 10 minutes after I eat I’m pretty good, too. Ay yi yi. I don’t like to drink soda (so 7up and ginger ale are pretty much out), but I do drink club soda with lime juice or ginger tea.
I have nausea meds but I don’t feel think it’s a good idea to take them everyday. Anyone have any other good ideas?

My primary pain medication for headpain has been phenergan (antinausa) and vitaryl or benedryl. For my type of headache this combo has been very effective. Hope maybe you get some headache pain assistance if you have to use something to control the nausea
hope this gets better. wish I had a remedy.
I’m not a big tea drinker, but I wonder if peppermint or ginger tea might be helpful for you? I don’t have constant nausea right now, but I use a lot of Zofran because it works so well for me. Probably not good to be so dependent on it for my relief, but it’s hard not to take it to knock out that feeling.
In the past some of my worst, most constant nausea has been a side effect of a medication. That might be another avenue to explore.
Take care, Emily. I hope you’re able to get some relief. Severe nausea is miserable.
Thanks Emily & Muum.
Emily I tried to look about vitaryl and couldn’t find anything. Is it possibly a different spelling?
Also I should definitely have mentioned that I’m allergic to phenergan. Pertinent information.
I’ve heard that natural ginger (the health food stores have it in tablet form) is good for nausea if you want to stay away from prescription meds.
Your description of feeling sick unless eating reminds me of being pregnant. That is really awful.
I have also heard of the ginger thing. There are ginger pills you can buy at Whole Foods and the like. I don’t know if they’d help. I didn’t ever try them because I didn’t know if they were safe for pregos. So I don’t know if they really work.
How did everyone overlook saltines
PS candied ginger from the grocery spice aisle helps…
wish i could help. The only thing i know of is peppermint tea…
