Least favorite Christmas song…

December 6th, 2009

I think this year it’s gonna have to be Christmas Shoes.

Anyone have any songs grating on your nerves?

I’ll have to listen to that one, I’m not sure I’ve heard it. Each and every year it’s the same horrid song for me. I HATE “Last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away…” Oh that song makes my skin crawl.

I’m with Emily Warne on that ‘classic’ pop hit. it’s name? but it stinks up the place, for sure.

but my MOST abhorred song at Christmas has to be Elvis Presley’s ‘I’ll have a blue Christmas’ As if the ‘nuanced’ melody isn’t bad enough, the back up singers sound … like idiots.

My favorite worst Christmas song is “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”. Once it’s in my brain it doesn’t come out. Thanks for bringing it up ;-)

I also hate all the other songs mentioned. Neither do I like the one that a man and woman sing together, and one of them says “Baby it’s cold outside” and the other says “I’d have to say no no no.” Do you know what I’m talking about? Sorry I don’t know the name. I probably sound nuts trying to describe it.

I worked somewhere that had Christmas Muzak, and Andy Williams – Let it Snow played 2x an hour. I still cringe every time I hear it – I used to love that song…

I’m with you on Christmas Shoes – horrible, every last note of it.

I have to agree with all of the above except Let it snow not having worked at that store. I will add the Beatles ‘So this is Christmas’ is that how it starts? I change the channel fast.

I don’t like the overly sappy Christmas shoes song, either. I called it the gold shoes song for a long time until my friend (who LOVES that song and even has the CD) told me it’s called the Christmas shoes, get it right. Ugh.
